Introduction To Audio Engineering & Building Your Own Podcast

The fundamentals of audio production

Vale Co-op presents a 8 week program where students will engage in the curriculum below:

Intro to audio production (Week 1 & 2) Intro to Pro Tools
 

  • Create a new session

  • What is an audio interface?

  • What are the different types of microphones?

  • Learn how to assign your audio interface

  • Learn how to connect your microphone to your audio interface

  • What is signal flow?

  • Hands-on and students will begin to create a new track

  • Hands-on routing your microphone in Pro Tools

  • Hands-on gain staging

  • Hands-on recording audio

  • Saving a session
     

Intro to audio production (Weeks 3 & 4) (Exploring the edit and mix windows)
 

  • Exploring the edit window

  • Smart tool

  • Make music for your podcast in Native Instrument Machines

  • Create your own podcast

  • Learn to mix and send your podcast out to the world!

New! Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) Stem Program January-March 2025

CIC is an exciting, hands-on workshop where students work as an individual or in teams to solve a real-world problem through creativity and collaboration. Participants will journey through the invention process, from brainstorming to designing, and finally presenting their innovative ideas.
